FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit Ninh Binh?
Spring (January–April) brings pleasant weather and many festivals. Late May to early June is golden rice season in Tam Coc. Summer is hot, so sightsee early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
How long does it take from Hanoi to Ninh Binh?
It is about 90–100 km, roughly 1.5–2 hours by car or limousine van. You can also take the train to Ninh Binh station.
How many days should I spend in Ninh Binh?
One day is enough for Trang An and Bai Dinh, or Tam Coc. To enjoy Mua Cave, countryside cycling and the Hoa Lu ancient capital at a relaxed pace, plan 2–3 days.
Where should I stay in Ninh Binh?
Stay around Tam Coc – Trang An for quiet surroundings among karst peaks and rice fields. Ninh Binh city center is more convenient for dining, shopping and bus or train connections.
Do I need to book sightseeing tickets in advance?
On weekdays you can usually buy on site. On weekends, public holidays and festival season, booking ahead helps you avoid long queues.
How can I pay?
Depending on the service, you can pay by bank transfer, QR code or cash. The exact options are confirmed when we confirm your booking.
Which local dishes should I try?
Mountain goat meat and crispy rice (com chay) are the two most famous dishes. See our Specialties and Restaurants sections for more.
Is the Trang An boat trip suitable for children and seniors?
Yes. Every boat carries life jackets and is rowed by a local guide. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water, as the trip lasts about 2–3 hours.
